Through at home reading and class discussion of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s book Wherever You Go, There You Are, we’ll explore what mindfulness is and the practice of mindfulness and meditation to enable us to better understand ourselves, our world and how this practice offers us “our greatest opportunities for creativity, learning and growing,” emotional and physical health, healing and stress reduction. We’ll also learn the basic practice and technique of meditation by listening to and practicing short in-class meditation from Kabat-Zinn’s audio guided meditation instruction.
“When Wherever You Go, There you Are was first published in 1994, no one could have predicted that the book would launch itself onto bestseller lists nationwide and sell over 750,000 copies to date. Ten years later the book continues to change lives.” (Section from Amazon listing
