“VIKINGS: Beyond the Legend”
The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is bringing the exceptional exhibit (developed by the Smithsonian museum) of the story of the Vikings beyond their legend. This is myth-busting at its best.
While Hollywood and fictional novels stress the blood and gore of Viking warriors, there is another side to their amazing story. The Vikings had a culture of surprising refinement, complexity, and achievement. This exhibit will capture your imagination by showcasing more than 500 original artifacts and objects, the largest Viking exhibit to ever visit North America. Most of these artifacts have never been seen outside Scandinavia, and many of them are from the Historeska Museet in Stockholm. Some of these provide fresh insights through recent discoveries.
Subjects you can explore include: a full-scale Viking ship, works of highly skilled craftspeople, daily life, and Norse mythology, among others.
