The English language is brimming with opportunities for amusement. Join us for eight weeks of exploring the joy of words. No proposals, company reports or resumes in this class. Instead, we’ll try our hand at acronyms, phantonyms, eunoyms, portmanteaus and pleonasms. We’ll have fun writing advice columns, 55-word stories, humorous headlines and six-word stories. We’ll study modern-day wordsmiths such as David Sedaris, Bill Bryson and T.C. Boyle. Finding just the right word to fill in a blank space is fulfilling. Bring your writing tablet or laptop, and join us in the search! The instructor, Sara Hoffman, has taught writing and journalism for 30 years and has written a historical fiction novel. No presentations required, but sharing your work will multiply the merriment!
