  • Are you concerned that our democracy is fragile now?

  • Is this the first time our democracy has been in question or has our country had similar periods when constitutional rights have been suppressed and leaders have emerged who rule more like a monarch than a president of a democratic country?

Join our discussion of this recent book. During class you will learn of at least 5 former presidents who challenged our democracy and of citizens who joined together to defend our constitution. The discussion will also include looking back at why the colonies declared independence, what they wrote in the constitution to protect their new government, and a warning from Patrick Henry that our constitution might not protect us if a criminally-minded person were elected president.
