Ever wonder what Fort Collins was like before it became the city we know today? Join us for a fascinating archivist guided tour of the Heritage Courtyard, where four historic buildings bring our community’s early history vividly to life. Our tour includes the 1858 First Elk Woman & Antoine Janis Cabin, the 1864 “Auntie” Elizabeth Stone House, the 1882 Franz-Smith Home, & the 1905 Upper Boxelder Creek Schoolhouse. Each building has a story to tell—and together, they offer a remarkable glimpse into the people, families, schools, & communities that helped shape Fort Collins. Preserved for future generations, these historic structures provide a fascinating window into our past & a better understanding of how Fort Collins grew from a small frontier settlement into the city we call home today. Come discover some of Fort Collins’ history that you may have driven past many times without knowing the stories behind it! $4 admission fee/person for this archivist guided tour and a minimum of 15 participants is required!
