Have you ever tried to solve a complicated problem with a group—and discovered that it felt harder, messier, or less satisfying than expected? This four-week, hands-on workshop offers a practical and engaging way to think together more creatively and effectively.

Participants will learn a structured but flexible approach to problem-solving that starts with understanding people’s real needs, encourages fresh ideas, and tests solutions quickly and simply. Working in small, supportive teams, you’ll tackle everyday challenges that matter in our post-work years—such as staying socially connected, navigating health or caregiving decisions, rethinking housing or transportation options, continuing to learn, or making better use of everyday technology.

For example, a group might explore how to make it easier to stay connected with friends, manage appointments more smoothly, or feel more confident trying something new. Each team will create a simple, hands-on prototype—such as a sketch, mock-up, or role-play—to explore and communicate their ideas.

No design or technical background is needed. This is a low-tech-friendly course that values curiosity, collaboration, and learning from one another. If you enjoy thoughtful conversation, practical experimentation, and discovering new ways to approach familiar problems, this workshop is for you.
