French producer and musician Christophe Barratier makes his directorial debut about a successful orchestra conductor, Pierre Morhange (Jacques Perrin) who returns home when his mother dies. His childhood memories are rekindled when he finds a diary by his old music teacher, Clement Mathieu (Gerard Jugnot). Little Pierre (Jean-Baptiste Maunier) is a wild child and attends a dreary boarding school presided over by strict headmaster Rachin (Francois Berleand). A new teacher (Mathieu) brightens up the place and organizes a choir, which leads to the discovery of Pierre’s musical talents. 95 min.
